Dinotopia is roughly 200 miles across and it does take time to travel from one part of the island. Humans and smaller saurians can hitch a ride with larger saurians to different towns, and Skybax Riders can cross the island in two to three days. There are many towns that exist on the island, but are not listed, such as Bonabba (located around the second R in Polongo River), and Powder Top Village (located in the Forbidden Mountains). Dinotopia is about imagination and creativity; if you need a village to be somewhere, go right ahead and create one.
